Photo Album

My daughter asked me to build a photo album for her to use as a guest book for her wedding. I decided to base it off of the designs from DAS Bookbinding. This build is a test to make sure that it would come out as desired.

This design uses Chicago screws to hold the binding together. The cover is covered in Burgundy colored Lineco Book Cloth.

The paper is used with Canson XL Watercolor paper. This paper is stiff so the pages were scored to allow the pages to bend easier. The holes in the paper were drilled using a screw punch paper drill that was purchased from Talas online. Two guards were added per page to allow spacing to allow the book to have room to fill up when photos were added.

Decorative paper was used on the inside cover.

The final cover for the wedding album was a white Canapetta Book cloth also purchased Talas Onliine.

The pages were printed with a box for the Polaroid as well as with lines for writing a greeting. The Polaroid was held in with Lineco Self-Adhesive Photo Picture Corners. The pages were scored in groups of 5 at distances progressively closer to the spine from back to front to allow the pages to bend. This was needed since the watercolor paper is very stiff and thick.
